Annual Ski Trip to Roundhill
The Roundhill Ski area lived up to all our expectations
when 108 children and twenty five parents accompanied five staff on our
annual ski trip.
The weather was clear and fine while the day warmed up
to a mid afternoon high of about 10-12 degrees.

Sports Exchange with St Joseph's Oamaru - Rooms 7 & 8
Some comments from the students -
The St Joseph's Timaru soccer team headed
to Mountainview High School for their annual sports exchange with St
Joseph's Oamaru.
Ryan was the star of the first half, scoring 3 amazing goals and
Tim scoring the 4th one. Leaving us winning 4-0 at half time.
In the second half St Joseph's Oamaru succeeded in scoring their
first goal, they had many more shots but Josef was too good.
Ryan scored 3 more goals and was about to get the 4th but it hit
the post leaving Peter to finish it off.
The game ended with us coming up on top 8-1.

The St Joseph's Timaru Netball B team played
against St Joseph's Oamaru. It was a tough battle throughout the
game but we
came out on top with a score of 27-23 to us. We felt we
could have played better but not everyone was feeling 100%.

Year 5/6 Marist Cup Netball
St Joseph's B and Sacred Heart played netball
for the Marist Cup. We played them at the Roncalli School Gym.
We had quarters that lasted eight minutes each. At half time, St
Joseph's were leading and
at full time the score was 30 - 1 to us. It was a good game and we
all had fun.
Year 5 and 6 Marist Cup Rugby
Our Year 5 and 6 Rugby game stared with a drop kick from Brad Surridge.
Seconds into the
game Tim Brien scored an awesome try stepping three people. As the
game went on, St
Joseph's took the lead and was winning at half time 20-5. After a
pep talk with coach
Gerard Cody, the teams headed back onto the field, hoping for another
brilliant half.
Tom Anderson took possession of the ball, stepping 5 people and dived
for a try.
Angus Finnigan scored the last try of the game leading them to victory
with the final score
ending up as 30-10.
Year 7 and 8 Marist Cup Netball
St Joseph's A netball team started strong, with Rebekah, Leah and Keryn
shutting off
Sacred Heart's centre pass offs. Our defence stayed strong
throughout the whole game.
Our Attacks demolished Sacred Heart's confidence by Mikie and Keryn's
direct passes into
the goal third and Courtenay and Anna's consecutive shooting. By
the end of the game
we were still going strong, which led to our 33-13 victory over Sacred
Heart.
Year 7 and 8 Marist Cup Rugby
St Joseph's started strong, scoring the first try because of great
teamwork. Sacred Heart's
forward with domination of the mauls pushed over the line for a great
try.
St Joseph's capitalising on some of Sacred heart's mistakes, scored
another try before
half time. The second half was just as intense as the first half.
It was try after try by
both teams. Then the whistle blew with St Joseph's winning 15-10.
